About Nordlicht Studio
Nordlicht Studio was created as a quiet counterpoint to the fast pace of everyday life. Rooted in nature and shaped by ritual, each piece is designed to bring stillness, balance, and intention into the home.
What began as a small personal practice grew into a studio focused on thoughtful home fragrance — candles and aromatics made to be experienced slowly, with care for both space and atmosphere. Every decision, from formulation to packaging, is guided by simplicity, restraint, and respect for the environments we live in.

From the North Sea to the Pacific Northwest
Nordlicht — meaning Northern Light — draws inspiration from two landscapes that have shaped both place and perspective.
I grew up near the North Sea in Northern Germany, surrounded by wide skies, quiet tides, and a deep connection to nature’s rhythms. Years later, settling in the Pacific Northwest brought a familiar sense of grounding — this time through dense forests, misted air, and the steady presence of the ocean.
Nordlicht Studio was created to reflect that shared feeling between coasts: the calm between waves, the stillness of forest light, and the sense of belonging that comes from slowing down and paying attention.
How We Craft
Every Nordlicht candle is hand-poured in small batches using carefully chosen ingredients and tested combinations designed for a steady, even burn. Formulations are created with balance in mind — never overpowering, never rushed.
We use clean-burning cotton wicks or wickless options, along with fragrance blends selected for clarity and restraint. Our approach favors moderation and intention over intensity, allowing each scent to support an atmosphere rather than dominate it.
Glass vessels and packaging are designed to be reused or recycled, with minimal plastic and environmentally gentle materials used wherever possible.

Rooted in Nature, Giving Back
The landscapes that inspire Nordlicht Studio are not just aesthetic — they are ecosystems worth protecting. In support of this belief, 5% of every sale contributes to Washington State orca conservation efforts, through organizations such as Orca Network and Orca Conservancy.
This commitment is a small but meaningful way of giving back to the waters and wildlife that continue to shape our sense of place and purpose.
